Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement for the modernization of the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at the Aurora Municipal Airport, Sugar Grove, Illinois. Work includes, but not limited to: 1. Remove existing rooftop Air Conditioning (AC) unit and provide new packaged AC unit, including all accessories and appurtenances that comprise a complete system for the ATCT CAB. 2. Recover existing PVC roof system with new PVC roofing system. Included in the re-cover are all flashings, sealants, adhesives, walkway pads, and other components to comprise a complete roofing system. 3. Remove existing main electrical distribution panel on the ground floor and provide new panel. 4. Remove the existing 12V and 24V DC battery banks and chargers on the ground floor and provide new battery banks and chargers. 5. Furnish and install new fire alarm auto-dialer compatible with existing system. 6. Remove existing rooftop AC unit disconnect switch and provide new switch. 7. Remove the existing fluorescent ceiling light fixtures on all floors, and provide new more energy efficient fluorescent fixtures. 8. Remove suspended ceiling tiles on all floors and provide new ceiling tiles. 9. Remove two (2) electrical unit heaters, on the ground floor and third floors, and provide new heaters. 10. Remove existing window AC unit on the fourth floor and provide new unit. 11. Remove existing wall fans in the southeast corner of the tower, above the third floor, and the west wall of the ground floor, and provide new ones. 12. Remove the existing lightning protection system form the roof to the ground floor and provide new system. 13. Remove doorknobs from five (5) doors and provide new lever handles. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the specifications, drawings and contract provisions under the subject contract. Award of a firm-fixed-price contract is being contemplated to a responsible offeror who submits the responsive offer for this requirement. The estimated price range is between $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. THIS IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. NAICS Code is 237990 To be considered for award of this project the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: www.ccr.gov). This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
