Description

THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSISThe 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for a Tri-axial borehole Seismic Accelerometer, Mfg.: Refraction Technology, Inc. PN: 131A-02/BH (6 each) and Assembly, cable, Mfg.: Refraction Technology, Inc. PN: 131-8025-100 (6 each). Requested delivery to Patrick AFB, Fla would be approximately thirty (30) days after receipt of a purchase order. This is a Sole Source with Refraction Technology, Inc. IAW FAR 6.302-1. Refraction Technology, Inc. is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement for the following reasons: The Refraction Technology 131A-02/BH tri-axial borehole Seismic Accelerometer is an ultra high sensitivity unit that can maintain watertight integrity to 1000 psi. It provides the industry standard analog out of -5V to 5V full scale. This particular accelerometer is tuned to work with the current RefTek 130A portable digitizers. It is also housed in a three inch stainless steel cylindrical case with a sealed connector, which can be deployed at depths up to 2300 feet. Each of these capabilities in conjunction makes the Refraction Technology 131A-02/BH combination the only sensor able to meet the demanding sensitivity, weight, shock resistant, waterproof and power consumption requirements. The Refraction Technology 131A-20/BY tri-axial borehole Seismic Accelerometer is the only device with the necessary sensitivity, low-noise, small size, shock rating and power consumption that satisfies all these requirements at the same time. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 3829 with a business size of 500 employees and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334519. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Refraction Technology, Inc. is the only source capable of providing this requirement.
