Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a notice of the Governments intent to award a Sole-Source Action. These items are needed for the Generator/Pump Units at the Richard B. Russell Power Plant, Elberton, GA. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source un der the authority of FAR 6.302, Only One Responsible Source and no other Supplies or Services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice o f intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all quotations received within 15 days after the date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract will b e based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Interested firms shall include, in writing, the company name, address, p oint of contact, telephone number, and business size; and a statement regarding their capabilities and qualifications to perform the work described via email to Sarah Emerson, Contract Specialist, sarah.h.emerson@sas02.usace.army.mil, no later than 4:00pm 29 Aug 2006. Based on the response received, the Government will determine whether competition is feasible for this requirement.
