Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for the 2nd Ward Stewardship Project, encompassing hazardous fuels management services in Township 16 North, Range 63 East, Sections 27, 29, 34, and 35, approximately 2 to 3 miles south of ELY, NV. The purpose of this contract is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health through thinning approximately 1000 acres of public lands using fellerbuncher type machines and hand labor, and prescribed fire not to exceed 4,500 acres. It is the intention of the BLM to complete this project in the most cost effective manner. Note: All merchantable material to be removed will be purchased from the Government and paid for at the total offer values shown through either application of Conservation Credits earned or cash deposit. The contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The Treatment Plan and Schedule will be agreed upon by both parties and incorporated into the contract. All changes to the Treatment Plan will be agreed to prior to the changes taking effect. The period of performance will begin on or about September 25, 2006 and continue for no more than 2 years form the effective start work date. This requirement is 100% set aside for small businesses under NAICS 115310. This solicitation will be available on or about August 16, 2006. A site visit has been scheduled for August 23, 2006 at 8:00 A.M. Participants will meet at the BLM Ely Field Office, 702 North Industrial Way, Ely, NV 89301. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors intending to attend the site visit tour shall contact Cody Combs at (775) 289-1854 at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise him of the firm's name and number of persons that will attend. Potential offerors may obtain a copy of the solicitation at http://www.fbo.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. Contractors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Proposals are due no later than September 6, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. Denver local time.
