Description
This synopsis provides notice of the Government?s intent to solicit a proposal on a sole source basis with Tim Price, INC (dba Contact Corporation), 150 Fort Collier Road, Winchester, VA 22603-5775, for the items listed below. The contract type is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Price commercial type contract. The Contract Line Item Numbers and descriptions are: CLIN 0001 P/N 100978 FABS 30M Mast System (5 each); CLIN 0002 P/N 307326 EX128/11-2.25, 10.5M Telescopic Mast (2 each); to include shipping if any. This equipment must be capable of being deployed by a 2-man crew and meet all the following technical requirements. The 10.5M Telescopic Mast must have extended height (minimum) of 35?, Retracted length (maximum) of 89?, Max wind speed (survival): 80 mph, Max wind speed (deployment): 30 mph, Maximum antenna wind surface: 15 square feet, Maximum vertical top load: 85 pounds, Maximum ground slope: 15 degrees, Maximum weight of mast body: 65 pounds, Max temperature (operating): + 130?F, Min temperature (operating): -40?F, and Sand and dust: Tested to Mil Std 810 method 510.2. The 30M telescopic mast system must extend to at least 30 meters, retracted length of no more than 5.6 meters, weigh no more than 225 pounds, be able to survive a wind speed of 80 mph while supporting an antenna payload having a maximum effective wind surface of 10.75 square feet, vertical top load of up to 110 pounds at 100 ft above ground, vertical top load of up to 88 pounds at 100 ft above ground together with an additional payload of up to 44 pounds at or above 85 ft above ground (total payload 132 pounds), vertical top load of 165 pounds at or above 85 ft above ground, and when supporting any of the above payloads, the mast must be capable of being extended to its full height in wind speeds up to 35 mph. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Tim Price, INC (dba Contact Corporation) is the only known source capable of satisfying the Government?s minimum requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible interested parties may submit a proposal in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider all information received by 25 August 2006, 1530 EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
