Description
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) requests information from all potential sources regarding their sheet-fed offset printing equipment. This request is for commercially available equipment available for the production of security documents and products. The BEP is considering the acquisition of a printing press for its Miscellaneous Products Division. The press under consideration is a five (5) color sheet fed offset. The press will allow for smaller product orders to be run along side larger orders requiring the current offset press. Perfecting is not a requirement. Maximum sheet size required shall be at least 14? x 20?. This size will allow the BEP to run a wide variety of product. The following features are desired: Infrared dryer, Automatic inking wash-up device, Ink fountain control console, Blanket wash-up device, Manual Plate punch, and Plate Bending device (if needed). The BEP requests all vendors to submit two copies of brochures, literature, specifications, drawings, pricing, and / or any other information on their commercially available equipment. With the technical package, the following information is requested: Availability (Commercial, Customizable, and/or Prototype) Typical Delivery, Installation and Training, Typical Cost, Optional Subsystems/Components, Optional Capabilities, Maximum image, Edge of plate to beginning of image, and beginning of paper, Average Production Rates, Size and Weight of Equipment Service and Warranty Available on Equipment, and other Optional Capabilities. The above requested information is for informational purposes only. All information regarding cost, delivery, time frame, etc. is not binding upon the Vendor and is necessary for BEP to more accurately schedule and budget such a project. Please forward all information by September 29, 2006 to Donald Baron, Contract Specialist c/o Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 14?th and C Sts SW, Washington, DC 20228.
