Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Indian Head, MD intends to award a Sole Source contract to Life Cycle Engineering for the purchase of Advanced Virtual Instrument Test Sets (AVITS) using PXI 3U form factor compact PCI/PXI instrumentation. This test set provides a common military platform for emulating legacy stand alone General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) needed to satisfy a variety of electronic test applications at the military operational level of maintenance. The AVITS provides a common hardware and software architecture that is easily reconfigured into multiple packaging schemes to support specific maintenance test applications or to provide a required suite of GPETE. The principal objectives of the AVITS operation is to provide the military maintainer: the capability to configure multiple, programmable virtual instruments into a portable, light weight, single-standard, multiple protocol packaging scheme; a capability that provides an interface to distance support assistance and training applications; and a system that reduces total ownership costs within the military. Life Cycle Engineering is the only known manufacturer of the AVITS. The Navy has established AVITS as a Navy Standard. The vendor?s specific model?s parts have been established as proprietary. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) is 334515. The FSC code is 6625. For information regarding this synopsis, you may contact Willy B. Quiambao who can be reached at (301) 744-6789 or email willy.quiambao@navy.mil. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FPO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronics Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. See Note 22.
