Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide further clarification on questions from prospective offerors and extend the date and time for receipt of quotes to August 17, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. Questions and Responses are as follows: 1. Regarding the Mask: The part numbers listed, #10007422, #10007423 #10007424 refer to discontinued numbers for the masks AND one canister. The new numbers for Millenium Mask ONLY are #10051286, #10051287 and #10051288. Response: We were not aware that the mask numbers identified have been discontinued. New Part #’s are: Millennium mask – Size small – part # 10051286, Canister – Part # 10057496. Millennium mask – Size medium – part # 10051287, Canister – Part # 10057496. Millennium mask – Size Large – part # 10051288, Canister – Part # 10057496. 2. Regarding the Canisters: Question 5 of Amendment 1 states that CBRN is not required due to Training Environment Only. So I would recommend MSA training cartridge, #10057496. These come 20/case, so it would be up to each offeror to determine how many cases in order to fill the 225 PPE Kits. Response: See response to Item #1 of this Amendment. 3. Regarding suits and gloves. Since you’ve stated that these are training kits only, I would also recommend a lesser suit and a lesser glove. We have a black nitrile glove that would look like Butyl, but would be much less expensive. The same goes for the suit. Tychem F™ Sealed Seam is a very durable, chemical resistive suit. For training, how about a plain Tyvek™ material with the hood, boot and elastic wrists? Response: For the Nitrile Gloves, there is no manufacturer specified. Item must meet specifications that were previously identified. The Tychem Type F (Lakeland #60151-Gray) coverall is the item required for this training environment. 4. Another item we typically include in PPE Kits is Kappler® Chem Tape™. The tape is used to seal suit-to-glove and suit-to-boot seams. Since these are training kits, you could simply use duct tape to save money. It would make this PPE training kit more realistic to donning an ensemble such as this. Response: No Chem-Tape is required. . 5. Regarding the bag: Since these are training only PPE kits, I would recommend a low end bag. My research so far puts the duffel bag with internal and external pockets plus handles and should strap in the $50-60 range. A plain-jane duffel bag would be in the $12-14 range. Response: Galls item #BG186 or equal. Please comply with specifications identified in Amendment 1. (A nylon bag (31” long, 14” wide and 14” high) with carrying handles and shoulder strap(s) used to hold all of the elements of one each PPE Kit, consisting of a Millennium Mask with filter, 1 pair of Tychem coveralls, 1 pair of Rubber Butyl Gloves, 5 pair of Nitrile gloves and 1 pair of chemical protective over boots.) 6. Can you confirm that the Norcross Servus chemical protective boot you’re specifying is their model #43995? Response: The Protective Overboot – Norcross/Servus Item #11095 or equal. 7. Do you have a particular mfg/brand & part number to reference for the butyl gloves? Response: Manufacturer: North B161/ Butyl glove – smooth finish. 8. Do you have a particular mfg/brand & part number to reference for the nitrile gloves? Response: See response to item #3 of this Amendment. 9. Do you have a particular mfg/brand & part number to reference for the kit bags? Response: See response to item #5 of this Amendment. The date and time for receipt of quotes is changed to August 17, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (16-AUG-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
