Description
FUNDS ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS REQUIREMENT. The response date remains unchanged, all responses are due on 10:00 AM (EST) on 18 August 2006. The purpose of this amendment is to post answers to questions that have been submitted. 1) Where is this sprinkler system located? A- In side Spray Booth and Blast Booth. 2) Will the damaged equipment be available for viewing? A- No, because it is located with the other beadblaster equipment. 3) There is a sentence in the exhaust filter requirement that states it is to be 4” thick?? This sounds like a NESHAP filtration system. Is this what you want? A- Yes. This is the only thing I can think of that is that deep. It’s a 20”x20”x4” frame deep grids. 4) Or do you want a standard exhaust filtration system? A- No. 5) Do we need a stand-alone sprinkler system installed? A- No, hook to existing facility system. 6) Is there any provision being made to bring the pieces into the booths? These operations are usually performed by a monorail system. A- There is no monorail system, all items will be either carried in or rolled in. 7) Clarification. Guide wires and stacks are the responsibility of the contractor. 8) Clarification. Flashings are also the responsibility of the contractor 9) Clarification. Blast media and paint and paint equipment will be provided by the government. 10) Clarification. The paint booth that will be provided by the contractor must have breathing air and an alarm system. 11) A layout of the old beadblaster equipment will be provided if requested. 12) Clarification. The entire floor for the beadblaster will need to be replaced. 13) Do you have or can you get the pictures of the damaged equipment done by the hurricane? A- A picture will be provided if requested. 14 ) When they sized the Natural Gas Line, did they include the volume required for the booth MUA? A- Yes 15) We will need 5 PSI Gas Pressure and 23 therms/hour I found the Gas line. Make sure the gas company knows we need 5 psi at the meter.? A- Contractor is responsible for gas regulator and gas piping from gas source to the MUA unit. 16) On page # 3 of the SOW, there is a statement under General Construction that states: Front of room will be connected to spray booth and will have a solid back wall. My question is---why have a drive-thru Paint Booth when they cannot drive thru the Drying Room A- When we said drive thru, meant the (paint) item will be move from paint booth to drying room attach to paint booth. 17) The paint booth is 12’ high and the drying room is 10’ high. There are also 10’ high product entry doors on the Paint Booth. A- The dry room doors are bi-fold and will open inside the paint booth which the height is 12’. 18) Clarification. The facility is 60’x60’. With the paint booth, bead blaster and clean room/dirty room, there is not room for product to be pull out into facility. 19) On page #2 on the SOW it states that the exhaust fan is to be located on the roof of building. A- The booth will have one (1) Vane-axial exhaust fan with non-sparking blades, complete with 230/460/3/60 TEFC motor, adjustable motor base and V-belt drive. The booth will have a minimum calculated face velocity of 125 FPM through empty booth, be arranged for top exhaust and furnished with two draft gauges. This meant that the spray booth will exhaust thru roof of the building not exhaust fan is to be located on the roof.
