- This is a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation(FAR) 6.302-1 with MicroBrightField, Inc. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responsible sources may submit a written narrative statement of capability , including detailed technical requirements and other literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirements to Ross.Joseph2@va.gov or by facsimile to 857-364-4487. Such qualifications/capabilities will be perused soley for determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. The equipment needed is described as follows: Part SS-15 Stereo Investigator software for Design Based Stereology, Image Analysis, and 2D Anatomical Mapping. 6 months of software support contract , Stereo Investigator Annual Software Upgrade and Support Contract. Includes software upgrades and technical support, 3-axis computer-controlled stepping motor system comprised of 4"x3" XY stepping stage without encoders (0.1um resolution, 6um accuracy), Z-axis motor (0.1um resolution), joystick, slide holder and 3-axis external stage controller with interface to PC , Focus Measurement Encoder. Accuracy to 0.1um of actual microscope stage focus position. Achieves closed-loop focus operation for more accurate Z-axis measurements. Includes microscope mounting bracket. 12mm range , Color digital camera, model CX9000 (with switchable monochrome mode), 3/4"chip, 1600Hx1200V picture elements native output at 10 frames/sec. Multiple alternative binning modes (up to 4x4 or subframed) at faster rates. 36-bit color, 2 megapixel imaging. Wide-bandwidth light sensitivity, optimal for most brightfield and epifluorescent applications. Optimized for far-red fluorophores/epiepifluorescent imaging with IR sensitivity to 1000nm in monochrome mode. Includes Firewall PC inte rface card. For use with external MBF stage controller, Software module for controlling extended IR color camera , Custom motorized filter turret with control card (requires MBF approved external stage controller) for Olympus BX-51 , PC workstation. Pentium D 940 Dual-Core Processor @ 3.20 GHz (800MHz FSB, 4MB L2 cache), 2.0GB DDR2 NECC SDRAM @ 677MHz, 128MB PCle x16 ATI FireGL V3100 dual monitor video card with DVI and VGA adapers, 16x DVD+/-RW drive, 1.44MB floppy drive, 250GB SATA 7200 RPM hard drive, integrated Gigabit NIC, two serial ports, enhanced multi-media keyboard, optical mouse, GOLD Technical Support (3 yrs). Windows XP Pro SP2 operating system. Monitor not included, 24-inch LCD flat panel monitor (WUXGA) 1920x1200 pixel native resolution , System integration fee. System testing/QA activities performed at MBF Bioscience, prior to system delivery. PC supplied by MBF, Calibration grid slide with reference grid squares in dimensions of 25um and 250um increments, Standard MBF toolkit: 1) extra long metric ball hex wrenches (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3, 4, 5mm) 1) english ball hex wrenches (5/64 to 5/16"). 1) Screwdriver set (slotted 1, 2, 3, 4mm, phillips #000, #00, #0, #1)., One day of on-site installation followed by one day of training.
