Description
The U.S. Army Engineering & Support Center, Huntsville, intends to issue a commercial-item purchase order on a sole source basis to Scitech Inc., 1319 Woodbridge Station Way, Edgewood, MD 21040 in the estimated amount between $500,000.00 and $750,00 0.00. This intent to make a sole-source award pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 is NOT a request for proposals. This contract is in support of the Deseret Chemical Depot, Stockton, UT specialized chemical weapon demilitarization program to provide day-to-day suppo rt to maintain a Data Acquisition System to include the following: (1) Data Acquisition; data collection; computer input; data reduction; data retrieval; and data storage in hard copy, computerized, and microfiche forms and (2) Technical Support to inc lude Support of statistical analysis, environmental regulatory compliance, computer automation, LAN/Network Administration, plant calibration, technical writing, contractor escorting, safety engineering, tool crib management, material expediting, records m anagement, and other technical support areas as needed. This action is for a follow-on contract pending the award of the replacement contract currently being advertised under Solicitation W912DY-06-R-0019. The Period of performance will be 28 August 200 6 thru 30 November 2006 with six one-month options. Deseret Chemical Depots current mission is to plan and execute the storage and destruction of chemical weapons and their secondary waste in a manner that is safe, secure, environmentally sound, protect s workers and the public and also to plan and complete depot closure. A major part of this mission is compliance with regulatory and Army requirements for an environmentally safe operation. Personnel Security Investigations will be performed on all Contr actor personnel. In accordance with AR 25-2 and AR 380-67, all contractor positions requiring access to Army Automated Information Systems (AIS) and other sensitive information shall be processed for a National Agency Check/Local Agency Check/Credit Check (NACLC). Businesses that can provide the required services are invited to submit in writing, within three (3) business days, an affirmative response, which includes as a minimum, the proposed credentials, qualifications, past experience, and any additiona l information indicating bona fide ability to meet this specific requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone requests are not acceptable.
