- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to issue a competitive solicitation (M67854-06-R-7040) for the procurement of Tactical Handheld Radios (THHRs) and support services. The THHR provides the Marine Corps with a standardized, secure, multiband (30-512 MHz), voice and data, tactical, handheld radio to meet small unit operations (squad, platoon, company). The THHR will also provide a dual vehicle radio system to replace the AN/VRC-88 and AN/VRC-89. The kit should include the following: A Hand Held Radio that is submersible to 2 Meters, a Hand Held Radio that is submersible to 15 Meters, and a Dual Vehicle Adapter with dual 2 Meter or 15 Meter radios and non-reflective exterior finish. Systems shall include equipment manufactures operator?s manuals and software. Shipment of systems to various Marine Corps Installations in the continental United States is required. The Government anticipates entering into a Firm Fixed Price, Cost, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity with Time and Material Provisions type of contract. The Government?s maximum ordering quantity of THHR?s and vehicle radio systems is approximately 5,000 and 9,000, respectively. The period of performance will consist of a 5-year ordering period. The Government release date of the solicitation is projected for mid to late September 2006. All terms and conditions will be identified in the solicitation. This solicitation will be available to interested parties through both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and Navy Electronic Online (NECO) websites (http://www.fbo.gov and http://www.neco.navy.mil , respectively). It is the responsibility of the interested parties to independently watch both of the websites for updates to any and all documents. Potential offerors are responsible for downloading their copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any. A written solicitation and amendments will not be issued. In order to be eligible for award, interested parties must be registered into the Central Contractor Database (CC R). The website for CCR is http://www.ccr.gov .
