Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 10 Acquisition & Management Service, Brecksville, Ohio intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Cleveland, Ohio for the purchase of technical services providing expertise for the acquisition of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Fmri , fMRI Data Reduction and Analysis, to include: (1) Assisting in the development of fMRI data acquisition process; (2) Maintaining databases of MRI and fMRI for stroke and control subjects; (3) Reducing and analyzing anatomical MRI and pre-post treatment fMRI data for 13 stroke patients and 8 controls; (4) Supervising work and producting analyses nd interpretations of data. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 13.501. The VA believes that the Cleveland Clinic Foundation is the only company that can provide these services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the technical complexity of this requirement. Information may be sent to the Contracting Office 90C, Cleveland VA Medical Center, Brecksville, Ohio 44141. The Government will not pay for costs associated with vendor submittal. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Cleveland VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
