Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Smiths Medical, Dublin OH for the purchase of the Level 1 H-1200 Fast Flow Fluid Warmers for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago Illinois. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other vendor or product will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339111 ? Size Standard - 500 employees. Specific features required for rapid infusion includes the ability to infuse crystalloid and a blood product at the same time and deliver 1400ML/minute of crystalloid at normothermic temperature. To the best of our knowledge Smith Medical is the only source that can provide equipment that will meet our needs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Smiths Medical.
