Description
The United States Army Communications and Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD) is conducting a market survey for interested sources that have the ability to provid e a downsized deployable Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) 3G cellular telephone network that utilizes CDMA 2000 technology. The system should be able to support future enhancements to the technology such as EV-DO when available. The network should con sist of a Base Station Controller and Mobile Switching Center (BSC/MSC) and a Radio Access Node (RAN) with up to 3 sectors operation and provides transmit power of a minimum of 17 watts per sector. This network should be contained within one or two man-po rtable transit cases and be able to process 36 simultaneous cellular phone calls. Support of NSA approved Type I secure mobile devices is required. This equipment is required to support ongoing test and evaluation ongoing within the S&TCD, CERDEC and wil l be used for future exercises and deployments that will be used to evaluate current leading edge technology. The systems must be capable of operating in both an autonomous and as a sub-network within current legacy networks. At this time CERDEC requests that interested sources provide information regarding their man-portable network. This information should inc lude the network elements that comprise the network to include brochures, pictures and specifications. The contractor must be capable of supplying Engineering Services to include training, future upgrades, operator manuals, frequency spectrum support and maintenance. This request for information (RFI)/Sources Sought (SS) Notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the US Army CERDEC. It is the intent of this command to enter into a three year Indefinite Delivery and Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for this equipment. The purpose of this RFI/SS is to identify potential sources that may be interested in and capable of performing the work described herein. US Army CERDEC does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses nor otherwise pay for the preparation o f any information submitted or for CERDEC use of such information. Acknowledgement of receipt of responses will not be made, nor will respondents be notified of CERDEC evaluation of the information received. An original and one copy shall be sent to the US Army, Communications Electronics Research, Development & Engineering Center (CERDEC), ATTN: AMSRD-CER-ST-WL-AW, Kevin Chin, Ft.
