Description
Provided below are responses to vendor questions. Question 1. Condition of the backstop area after the owner clears the location/area of sandbags? Is there a flat concrete grade, a concrete slope or a dirt slope? Answer 1. There is a flat concrete grade beneath the sandbags. Question 2. Will the owner provide a concrete base if the existing one is not sufficient to handle the weight of the rubber media and accumulated lead ammo. Answer 2. The Navy will provide an adequate concrete pad if one is not there. Question 3. What is the degree of the existing slope foundation currently holding the sandbags? After the sandbags are removed will this same slope degree remain? Answer 3. There is no slope. Question 4. If applicable, has the concrete slope been engineered to accept a weight of approximately 90,000 pounds of ballistic rubber media evenly distributed over the entire surface of the backstop area? Answer 4. Not Applicable. Question 5. Are there structural or architectural drawings available detailing the concrete slope? Answer 5. Not Applicable. Question 6. Are there any photos available without the sandbags installed? Answer 6. There are no pictures of the back stop area with out the sand bags. Question 7. Is the dimension 8.5 feet wide (from the back of the wall to the front of the bullet trap) a minimum or maximum measurement? Answer 7. 8.5 feet is the maximum distance. To further clarify, 82.5 feet long is an exact measurement. The height can range from 8 feet to 9 feet high. Question 8. Are there any baffles? Answer 8. Yes, there are overhead baffles.
