Description

This is a notice of intent to issue an order to Norsat International, Inc., 4401 Still Creek Drive Suite 300, Burnaby BC V5C 6G9, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The proposed procurement is for five (1) each, Newslink Satellite uplink systems, to include installation, maintenance, and training, which are used around the world to send information via sate llite to central agencies located in the U.S. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Gove rnment not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Norsat is the developer and sole provider of their proprietary system. These systems and associated software products are unique in the industry and are used throughout the U.S. Army for data and television with two ways audio and to integr ate with receivers in Atlanta, GA.
