- This Procurement shall be conducted under FSC CODE: M532, SIC CODE: 1481, NAICS Code: 213115. The size standard for this code is $6,000,000. TYPE OF AWARD: This acquisition shall be 100% Small Business Set Aside Request for Quotation. All Small Business responsible sources may submit a quotation. JOB DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the work specified herein is to determine the type, nature, and characteristics of various materials and the areal extent, depth, and conditions of these materials as they exist at the locations specified. This is to be acc omplished by hollow-stem auger type drilling using, one medium- to heavy-duty rubber tire mounted drill rig and one track-mounted drill rig for drilling and collecting soil samples capable of drilling to 110 feet below ground surface (bgs). There are ten (10) borings scheduled for Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) drilling and sampling at various places along the levee for completion to a maximum depth of 90 feet (Estimated), with total drilling at 900 feet bgs. SPT soil sampling shall be conducted every 2 .5-feet from surface to 70 feet bgs and then every five (5) feet to the bottom of hole (b.o.h.). Undisturbed samples shall be collected using 3-inch outside diameter Shelby tubes at locations specified by the Government Representative. The Contractor shal l supply the Shelby Tubes and the shipping boxes for the Shelby Tubes. The Contractor shall have on site the drill rig and all equipment necessary to drill to a maximum depth of 110 feet. Clay, sand, silt, and gravel are the materials expected to be enco untered at the drilling locations. The Contractor shall be prepared to use non-beneficiated mud as a drilling fluid after encountering groundwater. The Contractor shall be required to have a portable mud tank onsite to perform mud rotary drilling. Work f or the proposed project shall begin on or about 07 September. The Government Representative shall determine the exact time and starting date. It shall be necessary that the Contractor be prepared to begin work on that day. All Quotations are due back not later than 06 September 2006 @ 10:00 am PST. The acquisition method is Request for Quotation. Evaluation factors for award shall be as follows: Technically acceptable, low priced responsive, responsible, compliant vendor s hall be awarded the contract. VENDORS ARE ADVISED THAT THIS PROJECT MAY BE DELAYED, CANCELED OR REVISED AT ANY TIME DURING THE SOLICITATION, SELECTION, EVALUATION, AND/OR FINAL AWARD PROCESS.
