Description

The U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan intends to negotiate a sole-source contract for Siemens Medical Solutions for the procurement of transducers for the Siemens Sequoia 512. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Instromedix. This Sole Source action is based on FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A), as there will be substantial duplication of cost (compatibility with the existing system). Supplies include: 2 each Siemens 8V5 Transducer (P/N: 8241114) and 2 each EC10C5 Transducer (P/N: 8251332) with options to purchase 2 each 8L5 Transducer (#8241116) and 1 each 6C2 Transducer (P/N: 824186). The NAICS for this requirement is 334510 and the SIC is 5047. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the contractor?s capability to provide and ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be e-mailed to the Contracting Officer, James Teruya, at teruyaj@oki10.med.navy.mil. No telephone requests will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan will proceed with the sole source procurement with Siemens Medical Solutions.
