- PR 10182528. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and using the Simplified Acquisition procedures in FAR Part 13.5. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested but a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The Contracts Department at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) Point Mugu, CA, has a requirement to procure the upgrade of an existing Sun Microsystems Sun Fire 4800 System. Current configuration is (8) SPARC III processors and 16GB memory; upgraded configuration will be (8) 1.35 GHz UltraSPARC IV processors with 32 GB memory. Brand name only: The SPARC system is owned by Naval Air Depot (NADEP) North Island, San Diego, CA. Parts must be purchased via an authorized Sun Microsystems reseller. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer, conforming to this solicitation, will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered.
