Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure one (1) VMU1359LA Coaxial Magnetron on a Sole Source basis from Communications & Power Industries, Inc. 150 Sohier Rd., Beverly, MA 01915-5536. Communications & Power Industries, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this hardware. The VMU-1359LA is currently in service with existing High Power Pulsed Transmitters. Each of these transmitters has filament supplies, waveguide connections, cooling systems and de-spiking networks that are designed to accommodate the VMU-1359LA?s unique physical and electrical specifications. The specification of the Electron Tube, Coaxial Magnetron are Tunable Frequency Range: 11.9-13.2 GHz minimum, Peak Power Output: 100KW minimum, Pulse Width Range:0.2-1.5 us minimum, Duty Cycle: 0.001 minimum, Cooling: forced air, Filament Voltage: 15 VAC maximum, Filament Current: 3.6 A maximum, Pulse Voltage: 20.0 KV maximum, Peak Current: 20A maximum, Output Flange: the magnetron shall be coupled directly to UG541/U choke flange modified so that mounting holes provide clearance for No. 6 screws, Depth: 4.25 inches maximum, Width: 9.00 inches maximum, Height Above Mounting Plate: 6.00 inches maximum, and Height Below Mounting Plate: 2.8 inches maximum. Warranty: for the lesser of 1000 hours operation or one year from shipment date. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334411 with a size standard of 750 employees. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) will be utilized for award in accordance with FAR Part 13. The order shall be firm fixed price. FOB Destination, Dahlgren, VA shall apply. The quote number is N00178-06-Q-3712 and is a request for quote. Quote is due 28 August 2006, no later than 2:00 p. m. (local NSWCDD time) with an anticipated award date by 1 September 2006. Quotes may be submitted by EMAIL in Microsoft Word format to DLGR_NSWC_XDS13@NAVY.MIL or by FAX to: 540-653-6810. Email or Fax should reference N00178-06-Q-3712. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered.
