Description
To All Vendors: This is a request for info. only. Can you provide the following binder? Thanks. Jeff BINDER, LOOSE-LEAF, RING: In accordance with the following stipulations: 1. TYPE: CLOTH BOUND, STIFF COVER. 2. COLOR OF BINDER: BLACK. 3. SHEET SIZE: 14 x 8 1/2 INCHES.+ 4. COVER OPENING: At the 14" side. 5. CAPACITY - 2 INCHES 6. RINGS - 3 7. RING SPACING - 4 1/4 INCHES CENTER TO CENTER 8. BOOSTER: FOR OPENING RINGS. 9. GENERAL: Rings shall be made of steel with a minimum thickness of 0.162" and a minimum hardness of R30T63.0 in accordance with ASTM - E - 18. The back plate shall have a minimum thickness of 0.020". The operating mechanism cover plate shall have a minimum thickness of 0.018". The lever that opens rings shall have a minimum thickness of 0.030". The metal hinge shall have a minimum thickness of 0.020". Exposed metal parts shall be corrosion resistant. The outer surface of the binder shall be bound with one piece of coated cloth with a minimum weight of 8.5 ounces per square yard. The cover board shall have a minimum thickness of 0.12", and a minimum Basis Weight of 400 pound mass per 1000 square feet in accordance with TAPPI-T-410. 10. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: 10.1 Certification (paperboard). If paperboard is used in the manufacture of the item, the contractor shall certify that the paperboard used in the manufacture of the item contains a minimum of 30 % Post Consumer Material (PCM), in accordance with the Paper Products Recovered Materials Advisory Notice II (Paper RMAN II) which may be found in the Federal Register, Vol. 63, Number 109, dated June 8, 1998. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery, and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 10.2 Certification (plastic). If plastic is used in the manufacture of the item, the contractor shall certify that it contains a minimum of 25% Post Consumer Material (PCM), in accordance with Code 40 of Federal Regulations Part 247.
