Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a Kilo-DM with the following specifications: Minimum 32 X 32 actuator array Continuously Gold coated continuous surface Minimum 10mm clear aperture, maximum 15 mm clear aperture Minimum 1.5 microns individual actuator stoke at full actuator voltage Maximum 350 micron actuator stroke at full actuator voltage Actuator position repeatability better than 2 nm (1-sigma) RMS flatness over aperture (tilt and sphere removed) < 50 Any protective window or coating must be compatible with use in the IR, with transmission > 80% at least over the entire 1-8 micron wavelength range Deflection of actuators must be calibrated a calibration curve must be provided with the mirror This procurement is for the mirror only. Any remaining hardware required to operate the mirror (contoller, power supply, required software, cables, etc.) shall be disclosed in any bids submitted. This disclosure must include a full technical description and cost for the additional required hardware and the additional total cost must not exceed the cost of the proposed mirror. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from BOSTON MICROMACHINES CORPORATION . The results of market research identified BOSTON MICROMACHINES CORPORATION as the only company that provides the above items. Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c ) (1) only one responsible source. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This procurement will be processed using the procedures as set forth in FAR part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. DO Rating is DO-C9. This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing via fax, email or mail to NASA GSFC, ATTN: Candis Edwards-Duncan, CODE 210.3, Bldg. 11/Rm. C001, Greenbelt, MD 20771 not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 07/15/2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
