- The National Institutes of health (NIH), The Fogarty International Center (FIC) intends to procure on a sole source basis with Origem Consultoria Ceintifica to analyze influenza data to examine Geo-Spatial and Temporal Patterns of Disease and Transmission Dynamics. The contractor will analyze the Argentinean, Mexican and Chilean database. Diarrhea disease is an endemic health problem in much of the world, especially among underdeveloped countries where it has been estimated that children under the age of five suffer from 3.2-3.5 episodes per child per year (12-13). Origem Consultoria Ceintifica is a scientific consultancy company founded by researchers graduated at Oxford Univerisyt (United Kingdom), who have a broad experience in the fields of epidemiology, geo-spatial data-analyses, statistics and software design. To the best of the Government?s that has a vast knowledge of the service required. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-06-992 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 20, 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 775, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun.
