- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) intends to award a purchase order to UCSF Reproductive Health Center for delivery of data file inclusive of: 1) assisted reproductive technology treatment cycle data for 200 women including but not limited to follicular response, oocyte retrieval, oocyte fertilization, embryo implantation, and clinical pregnancy; 2) blood and urinary concentrations of total mercury, cadmium and lead for 200 women at baseline and oocyte collection and 3) blood, urinary and seminal concentrations of total mercury, cadmium and lead for 200 male partners at baseline and semen collection. All metals will have been quantified using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The sole source determination is based on UCSF Reproductive Health Center?s unique IVF population comprising of at least 1/3 women of East Asian ethnicity who presumably comprise a high exposure group to persistent heavy metals due to diets high in seafood and the employment of traditional Chinese herbal remedies. In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set-Aside. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-06-989 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 20, 2006.
