Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Mathematical and Computational Sciences Division intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Livermore Software Technology Corporation, Livermore, CA, for the renewal of an Annual LS-DYNA software license maintenance support. The determination for sole source is based on the following: Livermore Software Technology Corporation is the developer and only available vendor in the market for this proprietary software. The software license is for an on-going research program and is required for the purposes of uniformity, continuity of services, and cost control. The period of performance is for one year. No solicitation package will be issued. This is not a request for competitive quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by September 1, 2006. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
