- It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine to procure the items listed below as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Delivery will be made to National Library of Medicine, 38A Loading Dock, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland 20894. Desired delivery is 2 weeks from the date of the award. Items delivered shall be new material. Reconditioned/Used Material is not acceptable. Provide FOB point (origin/destination). The following Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) provisions and clauses apply: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (January 2006). 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (March 2005). 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (September 2005). 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items (August 2006). Anticipated award date is no later than September 15, 2006. Closing date and time for receipt of offers is 4 PM Eastern Time on September 7, 2006. PROPOSALS ARE TO REMAIN EFFECTIVE FOR 60 DAYS AFTER CLOSE OF SOLICITATION. Offers may be submitted on company letterhead stationery indicating the nomenclature; part number; unit price and extended price, FOB point; payment terms and any discount offered for prompt payment, the business size standard and any minority classification; delivery date, and Representation and Certifications contained in FAR Clause 52.212-3, including Alternate I. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 - Acquisitions of Commercial Items. This is a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and no other document will be issued. Sources interested in responding to this notice must submit a response via mail within fifteen (15) business days from the publication date of this notice. NO ELECTRONIC RESPONSES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
