- There is no solicitation. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services Division in Portland, OR has a requirement for the procurement of ? ton rip rap (boulders), smaller quarry materials such as river run and road base type rock and the rental of a grader for levee (dike) repair at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. If the dike is not repaired prior to winter 2006, it could fail, which would cause irreparable damage to the refuge facilities. Kernen Construction is the only company in Humboldt County that is currently supplying ? ton rip rap. The Service intends to award Sole Source to Kernen Construction. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1.
