Description

This amends the pre-bid site visit date to 09/11/2006. Bid Submission date is amended to 09/21/2006. No other changes to previously stated requirements. Proposed work under this solicitation includes moving the furniture, framed artwork, fireplace accoutrements and selected pre-packed objects in specially prepared boxes from Arlington House-the Robert E. Lee Memorial to a secured, museum quality storage facility with the assistance of a moving staff skilled in the knowledge and use of museum quality packing and crating techniques with a selection of museum quality materials and equipment. Responsible offerors must have an extensive experience in the specialized handling, protective packing and careful moving of irreplaceable museum collections. The ultimate goal is to protect the objects by using specialized materials and knowledge. The collections will be packed, crated, and removed from the house in accordance with the prescribed Moving Plan contaiined in the Statement of Work SOW. Bidders not attending the mandatory pre-bid walk through scheduled for 09/11/2006 at 10:00 will be deemed non-responsive. RSVP is required to attend per SOW. NAICS code is 484220. DOL Wage Determination 1995-0819 applies. This is not a small business set-aside due to the government requirements for extremely high quality museum artifact moving services.
