Description
The Government intends to award on a sole source basis in the amount of $425,000, in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements contract to SRI International, 333 Ravenswood Avenue, Menlo Park, CA 94025 for additional production design requirements of the Integrated GPS Radio System (IGRS), and design integration of the IGRS, the Multilateral Deviation System (MDS) produced by Sensis Inc., and range functions with existing and planned (Government installed) communication infrastructure aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC). Performance of integration design builds upon the existing infrastructure and communications data networks developed and employed at MCAGCC for previous JNTC and other training events. Familiarity and knowledge of the IGRS and the MCAGCC infrastructure is essential for task completion. SRI has invested over two years of subject matter expertise which can not be duplicated by another source without a significant investment in time and funding necessary to understand the complexities of USMC Range Modernization and Transformation. Use of a source other than SRI will adversely affect the timely delivery of required training capabilities. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Items and services will be shipped F.O.B. destination and delivered and accepted at MCAGCC and PMTRASYS beginning immediately after contract award. If no affirmative written response is received within 15 days after publication of this notice, a sole source contract to SRI International will be issued. All questions, concerns, and information should be addressed to John E. Lynch at John.E.Lynch2@usmc.mil and Major Todd T. Butler at Todd.T.Butler@usmc.mil or mailed to John E. Lynch at: Marine Corps Systems Command PM TRASYS 12350 Research Parkway Orlando, FL 32826-3275 Fax: 407-381-8817. No phone calls will be accepted. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUCTED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, OR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
