Description
A01 HAS BEEN ISSUED EXTENDING THE PROPOSAL DUE DATE TO WEDESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2006, NLT 4:00 P.M. Work includes but is not limited to providing all material, labor, and equipment necessary to expand the battery room/recycling area approximately 2,200 square feet at the Providence Processing & Distribution Center, 24 Corliss Street, Providence County, Rhode Island. The estimated cost of the work is between $1.395M and $1.705M, with construction completion no later than 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. There will be a PREPOSAL MEETING held on site on FRIDAY, AUGUST 11, 2006 beginning at 10:00 A.M to discuss the specifics of this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Technical inquires are to be addressed to the Project Architect, Ned Taylor of McKinnell, McKinnell & Taylor, Inc. at 781 878-6223, or USPS Project Manager, Michael Bezner at 860 539-9145. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors are required to submit a completed qualification package along with a company safety and health plan, which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award, the successful contractor will be required to submit a project specific safety plan acceptable to the USPS contracting officer. In accordance with USPS contracting requirements, if the award exceeds $250,000, the successful contractor will be required to submit a small, minority, and woman-owned business subcontracting plan before Notice to Proceed will be issued. Please note that the successful contractor is expected to recruit subcontracting proposals from minority and woman-owned businesses as well as small businesses in order for the plan to be accepted. Also note, the USPS Northeast Area Environmental Health and Safety Guide Checklist must be reviewed, completed, and signed by both the USPS Facility Manager and a representative of the successful contractor before work can being. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, contractor will be bound by Contractor?s Screening Requirements. SOLICITATION PACKAGES may be purchased for $150 (check or money order made payable to USPS Disbursing Officer) from the USPS Northeast Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Rd North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300.
