Description

The Aircraft Integrated Maintenance System (AIMS) is currently in production and being installed on board CH-46E helicopters flown by the U.S. Marine Corps. The AIMS software performs the minimum requirements for Post Maintenance Check Flights, Periodic Maintenance Checks, identifying system(s) fault(s) and advising of CH-46E aircraft condition. As a result of fielding these systems, the Government has identified a need for seven enhancements as follows: (1) Rotor Trim data accumulation and corrective action display, (2) Support Equipment reduction, (3) Engine Performance calculations and display, (4) Rotor Blade Tracker Enhancement, (5) Dynamic Component Health Indicators, (6) Rotor Track and Balance Automated Troubleshooting, and (7) Engine Torque System improvements. The intent of these enhancements is to build upon the successes of the AIMS program to date and will include upgrading the current AIMS proprietary software, making the current aircraft AIMS interface compatible with the new enhancements and possibly some hardware changes to the existing AIMS acquisition unit. This proposed effort shall be completed no later than 14 months after award and will be accomplished via a sole source modification to the existing AIMS production contract with Chadwick-Helmuth, a business unit of Honeywell, located in El Monte, CA. As the original manufacturer of the AIMS hardware and software, Chadwick-Helmuth maintains the proprietary technical data and drawings which are required to perform this effort and other COTS products sold by this company.
