Description
*This announcement provides notification of the release of the final RFP N00421-05-R-0053.*The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Navigation Systems Program Office, PMA/PMW-170, has a classified requirement for the development and testing of a conformal antenna for the F/A-18 E/F/G series aircraft in support of the Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) program. The goal of this antenna is to meet or exceed the performance requirements of the GAS-1 system with the additional requirements of being conformal, M-code compliant, and meeting Low Radar Cross Section (Low Observable (LO)) requirements. The conformal antenna design will be consistent with mounting on the top fuselage of the F/A-18 E/F/G. The antenna will need to conform to the contours of the aircraft surface to minimize performance impacts to F/A-18 E/F/G requirements while meeting NAVWAR requirements. The Government intends to procure a seven-element antenna of approximately 14 inches in diameter. The antenna must meet classified requirements. The projected procurement quantity for the targeted platforms is approximately 234 production units, plus 10% spares, over the life of the contract (base year plus a maximum of four option years). The initial quantity being required for delivery in Fiscal Year 06 (FY06) is approximately eight (8) R&D units. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 334220. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation that will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. The Government reserves the right to select a contract at other than the lowest price. The Government intends to evaluate proposals and make award without discussions; however, this does not preclude the Government from having discussions if it is in the best interest of the Government to do so. All offerors must be registered in Central Contractor Register(CCR). Information concerning CCR registration requirements may be viewed via the Internet at www.ccr.gov. Offerors may also access this solicitation at the following website: http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations. Contact Mary Carter via email at mary.carter@navy.mil or Amy G. Davis at amy.g.davis@navy.mil for more information regarding this solicitation.
