Description
National Institutes of Health (NIH), The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) has a requirement to procure an HRA/C Refurbished ICG/Flourescein Complete System from Heidelberg Engineering 1499 Poinsetta Avenue, Suite 160, Vista, CA 92081. The following in included in the system: 1) HRA/C Laser Scanning Camera; 2) Pentium Computer; 3) HP-Deskjet printer; 4) Monitor ? 20 inch Samsung; 5) HRA/C Computer Cart; 6) HRA/C Standard Power Lift Table. The section on Medical Biophysics, LIMB, has developed a theory of chronic photochemical injury driving Age-related Macular Degeneration and a biophysical model of the age-dependent changes in different fluorescent photoproducts (A2PEH2, A23, A2EO and A2Eon) that accumulate in the retina in concentrations related to the spectral imbalances of the light retina the retina which increase with age. In order to test this hypothesis, it is necessary to image the retinal autofluorescence in a manner that can separate the contribution of these major fluorescent molecules which requires a combination of images using different excitation and emission wavelengths. In order to achieve this it is necessary to procure this equipment from Heidelberg Engineering. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government.
