- The AFFTC, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is seeking potential sources capable of providing one FLOW Dynamic Waterjet System Retrofit equal to the items listed to meet the form, fit and function of existing systems. REQUIREMENTS: Contractor Responsibility: Installation shall be performed in accordance with Flow International service technical specifications for upgrade of Flow I-4800 Integrated FlyBridge to a Dynamic Waterjet system. The contractor shall be responsible for insuring that after retrofit to Dynamic Waterjet that the Flow machine performs at the original accuracy specifications. Delivery will require prior coordination with customer in order to obtain necessary access to hangars, machine shop areas and also for AFB visitor passes. Contractor must be responsible for supplying all required tools to accomplish upgrade and retrofit. Contractor will adhere to all government safety and foreign object damage (FOD) regulations while performing tasks at Edwards Air Force Base. Contractor must be responsible for notifying customer of any requirements for Hazmat material that will be used during installation. Such materials include but are not limited to: oil, lubricants, cleaning solvents, etc. Contractor will be responsible for prior arrangement of discard of such materials. Training: Contractor shall provide training to required personnel at the time of installation. Customer will provide training location and training aides upon notification from the contractor. Quality Assurance: For machinery/equipment installation, the contractor shall employ only those personnel who are thoroughly trained, are experienced with the skills involved and are completely familiar with the manufacturers recommended methods of installation. The contractor shall comply with industry, trade and federal standards, except when more restrictive tolerance or specified requirements indicate more rigid standards or more precise workmanship. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the FLOW Dynamic Waterjet System Retrofit, or equivalent, listed above. Firms responding to this notice must identify their company?s capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the number and indicate whether or not that they are a small business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 333515. The Small Business size standard is 500. The information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this sources sought synopsis, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in September 2006.
