Description

ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT COMPONENTS. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Region 3, intends to procure on a sole-source basis with VEMCO (a division of Amirix Systems Inc.), remote electronic transmitters and receivers to perform an Asian carp telemetry project on the Illinois River. The remote ultrasonic receivers placed in the Illinois River will be part of the larger telemetry array that currently exists on the Mississippi River drainage. Compatibility between ultrasonic transmitters and receivers is necessary to ensure that the telemetry array functions properly. In addition, the purchase of VEMCO transmitters and receivers is required so that fish tagged by the Service can be detected on the array already in place on the Mississippi River. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. Award of a purchase order is anticipated to be approximately September 6, 2006.
