Description

The U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM-RI), Rock Island Arsenal, IL 61299-7630, is currently seeking interested and capable sources to provide collapsible, self-supporting, 3000 gallon storage tanks for potable water, in accordance with PD-53048, Purchase Description, Tank, Fabric, Collapsible; Self-Supporting Open Top, Water Storage, dated 16 June 1997. To obtain copies of this Purchase Description send your request, to include cage code to POC below. In addition to the requireme nts of the PD, the upper portion of the tank shall have a circular collar or lip to prevent spillage, filled with either air or buoyant material such as Styrofoam or kapok. The estimated quantity is 100 each. The required Delivery Date is 4 weeks after r eceipt of order, no exceptions. The tank shall be an open-top storage container capable of holding and dispensing 3000 gallons of potable water and must be compatible with the M17A3 and A/E32U-8 lightweight decontamination apparatuses. The collar must su pport the weight of the M17A3 and A/E intake hose. If air is used a pump shall be provided with the tank. A closely fitted protective cover for the tanks shall be provided. The cover shall fasten to the tank securely by plastic toggles and loops, and sh all be supported to prevent the accumulation of precipitation. The tank shall be equipped with one male and one female standard, quick-disconnect fitting positioned at ground level and 180 degrees from one another. The fittings shall be located near the bottom of the tank so that the fittings are accessible when the tank is filled to rated capacity. A reinforcing pad shall be bonded to the tank surrounding the fitting connections to support the fitting to the tank fabric. The tank and cover shall have e ither a matte sand or flat black color. The purpose of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest and points of contact from the vendor community. Information may be used to help formulate acquisition strategies, to include socioeconomic program support and to help establish comm ercial practices available to the Government. NOTE: No solicitation is issued at this time. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government will in no way be obligated to purchase all or any part of the items de scribed above. The U.S. Government is providing this information as general information only. The U.S. Government will in no way be bound to this information and responses received if or when any solicitation is issued. This requirement is currently non -funded.
