- Description
- This is an amendment to Synopsis/Solicitation W31P4Q-06-T-0487 to include the specifications for the requirement which were not incorporated in the original notice. The specifications are as follows: 1. The item is a pedestal to which a parabolic radar dish is to be mounted. The antenna is a one-meter X-band parabolic dish and with its current mounting bracket, weighs 74 pounds. The current counterweight is 26 pounds (see figure/diagram). Additional vertical weight of 76 pounds will be added so the total vertical weight shall be at least 150 pounds. 2. The pedestal shall be capable of 360 degrees rotation in azimuth and minus 10 degrees to plus 70 degrees elevation coverage. 3. The pedestal shall have a maximum scanning velocity of 20 degrees per second in azimuth and elevation and a maximum slewing velocity of at least 50 degrees per second in azimuth. 4. The pedestal shall have a rated torque of at least 100 lb-ft. 5. The pedestal shall have a peak acceleration of at least 20 degrees per second squared. 6. The pedestal shall have a backlash less than 0.1 degrees. 7. The pedestal shall have an angular accuracy in azimuth and elevation of at least plus or minus (?)0.05 degrees. 8. The pedestal shall have slip rings capable of providing the following: a. 20 data channels. b. 115 V 60 Hz AC channel rated for 100 W terminating in NEMA 5-15 receptacle at the pedestal top. c. 220 V 60 Hz AC channel rated for 1.5 kW terminating in a NEMA 14-30R receptacle at the pedestal top. 9. The data channels and power channels shall use locking, weather proof connectors at their inputs. The data channels shall use locking, weather proof connectors at their outputs. 10. The pedestal shall have an X-Band rotary joint capable of handling 1000W average power and it is not to be pressurized. 11. The system shall be operated outdoors with no radome; therefore, the pedestal shall operate in weather conditions with up to 25 MPH winds and not be damaged by severe storms with driving rain and up to 60 MPH winds while not in operation. The pedesta l shall operate at temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius and survive storage at minus 30 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. 12. The pedestal shall have a manual leveling capability such as a tripod and shall have indicators such as linear bubble levels to level the pedestal to within plus or minus 0.05 degrees. 13. The height of top of the pedestal, including risers and/or tripod shall be at least 1.5 meters. The figure/diagram of the current mount can be provided upon request.
