- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Roche Diagnostics Corporation, 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256-1045 for the MagNaPure Compact bench-top instrument for automated sample preparation and nucleic acid purification that utilizes proven magnetic glass particle technology. Unit should process 1-8 samples of various matrices (e.g. blood, blood cells, culture cells, plasma, serum, sputum, stool, plant and animal tissue and food products) in under 40 minutes using pre-dispensed regents in sealed cartridges for easy and convenient handling and run software on an integrated computer operated by a touch-screen monitor, with a bar-code reader for facilitation of data entry and documentation. Particular specifications: magnetic bead isolation in reaction tips, automated isolation and purification of DNA, RNA and MRNA, 8-nozzle robotic arm, no vacuum or tubing on stage, variable processing of 1-8 samples, no sample or regent contact with instrument in normal operation, sample volume range 100 to 1000ul, elution volume range 50-200 ul, closed housing, tip and clot detection, touch screen display software, software controlled UV decontamination and sample tracking, Windows 2000 OS, compact dimensions (29?Wx19?Dx23?H), weight 60 KG, all purification protocols complete in 15-40 minutes, selectable input power 110V, 115V, 220V, 240V. Unit must be compatible with other units in the laboratory for expedient processing and small size is a major factor due to laboratory space restrictions. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Linda M. Young.
