- Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary for the demolition and removal of existing construction and work required to complete the addition and renovation as required for the Spinal Cord Injury Unit (SCUI) Outpatient Clinical Expansion, Phase III, Building 801, Downtown Division, VA Medical Center, 800 Bailie Drive, Augusta, Georgia, in strict accordance with plans and specifications. The work is identified as: ITEM I, Bid Item 1: Furnish all necessary labor, materials, and equipment for the demolition and removal of existing construction, and work required to complete the addition and renovation as required for the Add Inpatient Beds, SCIU, Downtown Division, VA Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. Work includes site work, general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work necessary to complete the addition and renovation of the Spinal Cord Injury Unit as required by drawings and specifications. A. ALTERNATE BID ITEM NO. 1A: All work contemplated in Bid Item 1 EXCEPT all work related to the therapy pool construction and equipment by Ferno-Washington, Inc. as shown on Sheets 801-A8.2 Therapy Pool Layout and 801-A8.3 Therapy Pool Details. Delete all labor, material, equipment and products to guild and outfit the therapy pool in space 1H-102 Therapy Pool and 1H-102F Pool Mech. The pool concrete pit, plumbing, rough-ins to remain. Delete the floor and wall finishes in spaces 1H-102 and 1H-102F. All work and finishes for spaces 1H-102E Staff, 1H-102D Store, 1H-102A Female/Staff, 1H-102B Toilet, 1H-102C Male/Staff to remain. The ceilings, lighting and mechanical systems for all spaces to remain. Refer to all architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical drawings and specifications for complete scope of work. B. ALTERNATE BID ITEM NO. 1B: All work contemplated in Bid Item 1 EXCEPT all work related to the therapy pool construction and equipment referred to in Alternate Bid Item No. 1A and construction of the ?Courtyard? landscaping and hardscaping as shown on Sheet 801-L.3 Courtyard Landscaping, Irrigation and Site Plan. 10? storm drain to courtyard as shown on Sheet 801-C4 to remain. The (4) four concrete yard boxes shown on 801-L.3 to remain. Delete all plantings, hardscapes, furniture, and irrigation system. Pluming and electrical rough-ins to remain. C. ALTERNATE BID ITEM NO. 1C: All work contemplated in Bid Item 1 EXCEPT all work related to the therapy pool construction and equipment referred to in Alternate Bid Item No. 1A, construction of the ?Courtyard? landscaping and hardscaping referred to in Alternate Bid item No. 1B and renovation of the existing flagpole parking lot and entrance from Osler Lane. Renovation of the existing parking lot and Osler entrance will be as shown on attached drawing. A pre-site visit will be scheduled, date, time and location to be announced in the solicitation. Applicable NAICS Code is 236220. Cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Procurement is 100% set-aside for 8(a) small business concerns. The solicitation and drawings will be ready for download o/a August 19, 2006. Solicitation and drawings must downloaded from the website listed in the announcement.
