Description
The VA Illiana Health Care System, 1900 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832 has a construction requirement for Project No. 550-06-139, GEMS Initiative, Buildings 14, 26, 58, 98, 100 and 104. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment to perform all work required for the replacement of alarm systems, sensors, single wall piping, containment pans, etc. in existing underground fuel storage tanks. Work includes, but is not limited to, general construction, alterations, demolition, mechanical, other electrical work, sheet metal work and other certain items located at Buildings 14, 26, 58, 98, 100 and 104 as required by project drawings and specifications. All work will be in strict compliance with all applicable codes and VA regulations. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code is 238220. The small business size standard is $13M. The completion time for this project is 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 9/5/06 at 10:30 am local time in Building 102, Conference Room 126D, at the VA Illiana Health Care System. The estimated construction cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The solicitation is 100% set-aside for HUBZONE CERTIFIED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS capable of performing the required work. Bids from other than hubzone certified small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected (see numbered note 28). All bidders must be registered with Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) with the applicable NAICS referenced. Note: Ensure your registration has not expired. Solicitation IFB 550-06-IB0003 will be available on or about 8/21/06 with a bid due date of 09/21/2006 at 3:00 pm local time. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. Electronic solicitations may be obtained FREE at the following URL http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Drawings will be available electronically with the solicitation or can be requested in writing from the Contracting Officer. Telephone requests will not be accepted. It is recommended that bidders complete the solicitation mailing list on the web site before downloading the solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging amendments to the solicitation. Amendments to the solicitation will be posted on the referenced web site.
