- The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center is soliciting proposals for the upgrade and modernization of three passenger elevators located at 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Contractor shall provide all supervision, tools, equipment, material and labor required for the complete upgrade and modernization of three existing passenger, eight story hoist way, D-wing elevators and controls. Work shall also include the installation of a new AC unit on the roof of the D-wing elevator penthouse. Contract includes guarantee period services for related warranties/guarantees and full maintenance, including emergency call back service. The estimated cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. Performance period is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is unrestricted; all qualified, responsible sources may submit an offer that shall be considered by the agency. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 238990, size standard of $13 million applies. The solicitation shall be made available on or about August 14, 2006 with a due date of September 14, 2006 by 3:00 p.m. local time.  Copies of the solicitation may be obtained at no charge at the VA Business Opportunities System website http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov  or  http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ Dissemination is limited to electronic medium and the VA will provide no hard copies.  Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address.  Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments.  The resulting contract shall be awarded to the offeror who provides the best overall value to the Government. A bid guarantee is required. Award of a contract is contingent on the availability of funds. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held on August 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Building 5, VA Medical Center, 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN. It is recommended that all interested offerors have qualified representation at the pre-proposal conference.
