- Description
- The contractor shall provide supervision, labor, materials and tools to relocate existing retail store located in building 11B, first floor to the existing Outpatient Radiology Department at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: Remodeling 3200 square feet of area as specified in drawings and specifications, demolition and removal of debris from VA property. General, plumbing, heating, mechanical, electrical and fire protection trades are required. The scope includes selective removal and replacement of existing HVAC, plumbing, sprinklers, electrical systems, fire alarm system, security system, telephone and data wiring system, walls and ceiling systems, modification of floor system, etc. Contractor shall provide as-built drawings and markup all changes in red ink. Construction shall be performed as not to interrupt continued facility operations. All work shall be done in accordance with VA specifications and interim life safety measures and completed in 120 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. Coordination is required with VA_s contractor for abatement of asbestos containing materials. VA will test and remove all asbestos containing materials. This requirement is a set-aside restricted to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. All other interested concerns are deemed ineligible to apply. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted. Cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. NAICSC code is 236220. Issue date is on or about Aug 21, 2006. Award is subject to the availability of funds. The solicitation and specifications will be issued and made available free of charge at the Department of Veterans Affairs Business Opportunities System (BOS) website: http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov. Interested parties may also access the solicitation and specifications on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. However, drawings are only available on CD-ROM. Request for the drawings must be submitted in writing via e-mail to jeffrey.reed2@med.va.gov.
