Description
The U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA) Directorate of Transportation, located in the Marshall Islands (RMI), is collecting and seeking information from potential sources for a High Speed Catamaran Ferry Vessel. This is a Request for Information (RFI) /Sources Sought notice, and as such, does not constitute a solicitation for proposal. Authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract for the contemplated effort has not been received and funds are not currently available. The vessel envisioned would be a high speed catamaran capable of transporting passengers to and from the outer Kwajalein islands on trips of up to 100 Nautical Miles daily. The vessel will need to accomodate approximately 110 to 125 passengers, and be abl e to cruise with this passenger load at speeds of 46 to 53 knots. The vessel will perform at the specified speeds and capacities for a minimum of two (2) round trips per day, 7 days per week. The vessel will need to to be able to endure Sea State 3 (3-5 foot seas) that are commonly accompanied by 20-25 knot winds. The dimensions of the vessel would need to be 20-25 meters in length with a beam of 8-9 meters. Capital cost is an issue. It is expected that the vessel will go through cyclic maintenance eve ry 3 years. Responses of the offerors are to include, but not be limited to, capability statements, prelimenary concept proposals, descriptive literature, points of contact, past performance and experience with High Speed Catamaran production, and pricing information. The Government will review the submitted responses to determine whether the High Speed Catamaran will meet the required passenger service needs of USAKA. Eac h response should reference the Request for Information title: High Speed Catamaran Ferry Vessel, US Army Kwajalein Atoll. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Although proposal and offeror are used in this RFI/Sources Sought, your response will be treated as information only. No bas is for a claim shall arise as a result from a response to this RFI/Sources Sought or from Government use of information furnished.
