Q1700060202. This solicitation as well as any issued amendments will be available on-line at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about August 18, 2006. The work of this contract is located on Isle au Haut (IAH) , an island situated 15 miles southwest of Mount Desert Island. Work consists of clearing a 50-foot wide boundary fuel break on surveyed property lines. All lines will be flagged, signed and delineated in advance of work to be performed with access through parklands only. Travel to worksites by motorized vehicles is on established roads. All off road travel will be by foot; no motorized ATV vehicles are allowed. The boundary areas range from open, flat, rock face and slopes to some steep and uneven terrain while encountering all types of forest/fuel types such as bog, grass, dead and downed tree areas to dense soft and hardwood stands. The cutting, thinning and pruning will be by manual means using chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws/pruners and handtools. Disposal of debris can be chipped if and when possible or otherwise dispersed inside of park boundaries. Work must be completed by March 31, 2007. A pre quote site visit will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 rain or shine. Meet at the IAH Ranger Station at 11:00 am. The Isle au Haut Mail Boat departs from the Isle Au Haut Ferry Service Terminal, Sea Breeze Avenue, Stonington, Maine at 10:00 a.m. Parking is limited and there will be a fee for the boat trip and parking. The boat will arrive at IAH at 10:45 am. Return mail boats leave the IAH town dock at 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Attendees should be prepared to walk ? mile to and from the town dock to the Ranger Station and the entire boundary to be cleared, approximately 3.2 miles. Ferry transportation is available at other times for those who wish to spend more time on site. All quoters are encouraged to attend and should bring their solicitation package. Although the site is always open for inspection, no other pre quote meeting with government personnel will be scheduled. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Hard copy quote documents only shall be accepted for this solicitation (no faxed or electronic quote documents will be accepted). Quotes must be received at Acadia National Park, P. O. Box 177, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 by close of business on September 14, 2006 local prevailing time. A complete quote package shall include the original completed SF 18, Request for Quotation with original signature, completed quote schedule; and completed Section K, Representations and Certifications. Award shall be made to the responsive and responsible offeror whose offer will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and price related factors included in the solicitation.
