- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTES OR BIDS. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The purpose of this announcement is to determine potentially qualified contractors and their ability to provide the following described services: Yellowstone National Park (YNP) generates approximately 2,500 tons of municipal solid waste, 250 tons of treated sewage sludge, and 325 tons of manure annually. YNP personnel shall transport the noted materials to the contractor's facility, year round, in 75 cubic yard compactor trailers and collection trucks. The number of loads will vary, depending on the time of year. During the summer months, approximately June 15th through August 30th, up to 36 tons per day will be delivered. During the remainder of the year, one 15 to 18 ton load will be delivered every seven to ten days. The contractor's facility must be located within a 150 mile one-way distance of Mammoth Hot Springs, WY and be accessible to the YNP personnel Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The contractor shall: - Sort all municipal solid waste at their facility. - Divert by composting, recycling or other environmentally friendly method approximately 80 %, by weight, of the waste from landfills. - Be able to track the disposition of the delivered YNP materials and shall submit monthly reports stating the percentage of YNP materials diverted from landfills. - Transport the remaining 20 % of the solid waste to a state licensed landfill. The contractor shall submit a copy of the state license to YNP on an annual basis. - Adhere to all federal and state solid waste regulations. The contractor shall submit copies of their state approved operating license on an annual basis. - Provide state certification of their weight scales Responses to this announcement should be addressed to John Chaney, Contract Specialist with Yellowstone National Park.
