- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is being requested. Solicitation number N62786-06-T-0032 applies. Quotes must be received by 12:00 p.m. on August 18, 2006. The RFQ and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-11 and DFARS Change Notice (DCN) 20060711. This solicitation is not set-aside for small business. The Government intends to award to only one source in under authority of FAR 6.302-1. The proposed acquisition is being processed utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures on an other than full and open competitive basis to Caterpillar, Inc., 100 N.E. Adams Street, Peoria, IL 61629. It is anticipated that award will take place on or before 31 August 2006. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 333611. SUPSHIP Bath has a requirement to contract for the following item. Item 0001: Caterpillar Marine Engine, Model 3508 ?A? Rated with twin disc MG6321 Marine transmission, ratio of 4:06:01 and includes: JWAC after-cooler core corrosion resistant coated; Regular Duty Air Cleaner w/service indicator; RH 3161 Governor w/self-contained synthetic oil sump; Oil cooler; Centrifugal, gear driven jacket water pump; Centrifugal, non-self-priming auxiliary sea water pump; air-shielded water cooled exhaust manifold and turbocharger; SAE No 0, 151 teeth Flywheel; Flywheel housing SAE No. 0; Fuel Transfer Pump; Engine Oil Pressure Gauge; Engine water temperature gauge; fuel pressure gauge; service meter; tachometer; oil filter differential pressure gauge; vibration damper and guard; coolant level sensor; water level switch gauge; inlet/outlet connections; marine gear cooling; two pilot house instrument panels; charger alternator; and three copies of documentation. Qty: 1 Each. Vendor must provide valid Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, DUNS number and Tax ID number. To be eligible for award, you must be properly registered in the Central Contractor Registry at www.ccr.gov. The following provisions/clauses apply to this procurement: FAR 52.212-1; FAR 52.212-2; FAR 52.212-3, FAR 52.212-4 and FAR 52.212-5. Numbered Note 22: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
