Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 423430. The reference number for this Request for Quote (RFQ) is PT888861240200. The NGA plans to issue a sole source purchase order to the Harris Corporation with a Firm Fixed Price under FAR Part 12 and 13. The requirement is for the following items: Part = MET for Windows. Qty = 4. Part = MET for UNIX. Qty = 1. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION: Harris Corporation is the developer, owner, and sole distributor of MET software. They do not license resellers. BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION: MET software is a tool used by imagery scientists at NGA. It provides certain unique and superior capabilities that no other Electronic Light Table provides. It has the unique capabilities of triangulation (multi-image precise geopositioning) and IDP capability, making it a necessary tool for the imagery scientists. Vendor shall quote all or none of the listed items. The NGA intends to award one contract to Harris Corporation resulting from this combination synopsis/solicitation on a sole source basis. Delivery is FOB Destination to NGA Navy Yard, JSM, MS N-024, 1200 First St. SE, Washington, DC 20303-0001. Total cost shall include all shipping and handling. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, with no obligation to the vendor by the Government. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-11. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The NGA?s intent is to award on a sole source basis to Harris Corporation.
