Description
On Monday, August 7, 2006 plans and specifications will be available from the Northeast FSO, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300, Attention: Susan Lam for $75.00 per set, non refundable Company check or money order payable to the Disbursing Officer for the following project: providing all material, labor and equipment necessary to complete exterior modifications to the west loading docks at the Processing & Distribution Center, 1200 William Street, Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The estimated cost of the work is between $800,000.00 and $1,200,000.00 with construction completion no later than 90 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. There will be a preproposal meeting held on site (Room B-12 of the Buffalo P&DC), on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Technical inquiries are to be addressed to the Project Architect, William Lockwood of Foit-Albert Associates at (716) 856-3933 or to the Project Manager, Kenneth Kedzierski at (716) 695-3761. This is not a formal invitation for bid, therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors are required to submit a completed qualification package along with a Company Health and Safety Plan which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award, the successful contractor will be required to submit a project specific safety plan acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. In accordance with USPS contracting requirements, the successful contractor is expected to recruit subcontracting proposals from minority and woman-owned businesses as well as small businesses in order for the plan to be accepted. Also note that the USPS Northeast Area Environmental Health and Safety Guide Checklist must be reviewed, completed and signed by both the USPS Facility Manager and a representative of the successful contractor before work can begin. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, contractor is bound by Contractor's Screening Requirements.
