Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a CRI Nuance Multispectral Imaging System. The purchase of this instrument from Cambridge Research & Instrumentation, Inc., 35-B Cabot Road, Woburn, MA 01801, is requested to continue studies on fluorescence imaging experiments. This device is patented and uses nematic liquid crystal tunable Lyot filters (LCTF) with aperatures greater than 20 mm, wavelength ranges from 400 nm to 2450 nm, USB computer control, image-preserving optics and bandpasses (FWHM) less than 30 nm. The Nuance multispectral imaging system utilizes proprietary software algorithms for data analysis and this manufacturer uses Compute Pure Spectrum algorithm for the correct determination of library spectra for the quantitative elimination of autofluorescence. The system also uses liquid crystal based polarization imaging systems that utilize patented algorithms developed for quantitative birefringence imaging. To the best of the Government?s knowledge the proposed contractor is the only known source that can provide the components. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 22, 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 775, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun.
